Grief
not to fight against it but to accept and work through these emotions
Bereavement counselling is a specialised type of counselling that supports people who have lost a loved one. It can also be helpful for people who have experienced a big change in their life, such as divorce or redundancy, that can also leave us with a feeling of loss and grief.
Following a bereavement or loss, you may find that you have difficulty coping. Grief can be made up of many different emotions, including anger, sadness, frustration, confusion and loneliness. One of the best ways to cope with a bereavement is not to fight against it but to accept and work through these
emotions.
This can be challenging, especially when we have other responsibilities, such as family and work, that also need our attention. Talking with a trained bereavement counsellor can help. I can work with you to help you through your grief, and to offer coping strategies for dealing with every day life and also for times that you may find of particular difficulty, such as anniversaries, birthdays and Christmas.
